The Top 5 Robotic Vacuum Cleaners For Hardwood Floors

Best Robotic Vacuum Cleaners For Floors

If you have read my article on the hassles and dangers that come with the cleaning and maintenance of a hardwood floor, you will have no doubt come to the same conclusion as I did about finding the best products – the easier to use, more efficient, better quality, less time-consuming.

If we have to spend hours on our knees dry mopping stains with exact solutions, or vacuuming our floors every day there would be little time left for anything else. Floor cleaning should be a simple as possible. With that in mind, I have compiled a list of 5 of the best robotic vacuum cleaners for hardwood floors. These robotic floor cleaners are designed to make our lives easier.

1. iRobot Roomba 770irobot-roomba-770 robotic vacuum cleaners

The top model in this list of the best robotic vacuum cleaners for hardwood floors is expensive but impressive. The Roomba 770 has a simple round design with a large, powerful cleaning head and a running time of 135 minutes. The great thing about this model is that it seems to be able to attack pretty much anything and everything that gets in its way.

The suction and three-stage cleaning system mean that pet hair, dust, and dirt are all dealt with ease. On top of this, the device has acoustic dirt detection that detects dirt in a precise motion, And it can all be controlled with a simple touch of a button. The problem – if you want to call it that – is that it can be a little overeager. It will not think twice about sucking anything in its path, including phone cables, or roaming under furniture and into difficult corners. You may have to rescue it occasionally, but it is still the most reliable model here.

2. Neato Robotics XV-12Neato Robotics XV-12

The key selling point with this futuristic model is the intelligence on offer. This robotic vacuum cleaner can read the situation in front of it – avoiding obstacles and adjusting for transitions between carpets and hard floors.

Neato is also able to return to the charging dock when it runs out of power, although the 95-minute running time should be sufficient. It has a strong back-and-forth cleaning motion and a high dirt collection system. The downsides, however, are the lack of precision in tight areas and the lack of a remote.

3. Evolution Robotic Mint Plus 5200Evolution Robotic 5200

This machine deserves it the place in the top three for the impressive run time of 200mins – far more than even the best-rated model here – and the dual purpose. This is a great sweeper, but it also has a liquid soap dispenser and “pro-clean reservoir pad” for a mopping action.

Mint Plus also has a high performance across the whole floor space because its small, square shape allows it to get into the corners and under furniture. The reason it only reaches number 3 on this list is that it can struggle with certain obstacles, and there is no remote control included to help it out. Also, make sure that the cleaning solution is suitable for your hardwood floor type.

4. InfiNuvo CleanMate QQ-2InfiNuvo CleanMate QQ-2

Again, this machines an affordable option and has a slightly better running time of 90 mins. The 3-in-1 nature of this robot should mean that it ranks a lot higher on this list – it sweeps, vacuums and sanitizes the floor with five pre-programmed cleaning patterns.

This robot has plenty of great tricks up its sleeve, such as the UV light for detecting bacteria. The problem is that it doesn’t have the intelligence to go with it. The smarter models below are much better at determining a cleaning path and providing an efficient action.

5. The iTouchless Intelligent AV002AThe iTouchless Intelligent AV002A

The first option is one of the cheaper options, but this low cost comes at a price. This model is not purely designed for hardwood floors, as it is also pretty effective on carpets too, and this means it should be helpful all over the house.

The problem here is that it has the shortest running time of the five at 80 minutes, and it tends to shut itself off if it gets stuck – something that buyers may not notice. The machine has a decent success rate regarding dirt and pet hair in different situations, but it doesn’t take long for the dust collection bin to fill up. As a result, this may not be the hands-off, helpful robot you are looking for.

Here are the robotic floor cleaners I like and hopefully has made your research a little easier. Remember to check the manufacturer’s website for the most recent information and see what model year changes may have taken place.  Just like cars these vacuum cleaners keep getting upgraded and better each year.
